Poughkeepsie residents will soon see a new logo -- PKGO -- popping up around the city and attached to special events and might wonder what it means. It's pretty simple really, PKGO stands for "Poughkeepsie Go!" and is meant to symbolize that the city is a place on the go, with great people and businesses. Extends $1 Lease Agreement On Stony Point Town Pool Property
SUEZ and the Town of Stony Point announced an agreement this week to extend a land lease by 20 years on a 42-acre parcel used by the town for its pool. The $1 annual lease allows the town to continue to operate the pool on the 42-acre property until 2038. The lease agreement has been in place since 1984. Under the terms of the new agreement, the town is responsible for all activities related to the maintenance of the property and facilities. Rye Neck Voters Approve $27.6M Schools Bond Referendum
Voters in Rye Neck overwhelmingly approved the school district’s proposed $27.6 million capital improvement bond spending plan. With a vote of 733 to 153, voters approved Proposition One, which includes a $6.28 million plan that will replace antiquated roofs across the district’s three buildings. Proposition B, which passed 608 to 278, includes an expansion to the middle and high school that will add eight new classrooms.
