Truck, CSX Train Collide In West Nyack, Closing Roadway
A truck and a CSX train collided Wednesday morning in West Nyack, backing up traffic. Clarkstown Police responded to a report of the crash around 8:34 a.m. at Pineview Road in West Nyack, said Clarkstown Det. Peter Walker. "There were no injuries to anyone involved in the incident," Walker said. The road will be closed until an investigation is conducted. Police are asking motorists to avoid the area until the crash is cleared.

Couple Hit By Car In Dumont
Two pedestrians struck by a sedan in Dumont were hospitalized Saturday night with injuries that responders said weren’t life-threatening. The fifty-something couple were walking over the CSX railroad crossing on New Milford Avenue near Dumont High School when they were struck by the westbound vehicle, responders said. Both the man and woman were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with head injuries, they said, adding that she also had a hip injury.

Person Struck, Killed By Train In Hudson Valley
A person was struck and killed by a train in the area, according to CSX officials. The person, who was on the tracks, was hit around 1:10 p.m. Wednesday by the train, which was headed north near the intersection of New Main Street and Conger Avenue in Haverstraw, said Christopher Smith, spokesman for CSX. Man Struck, Killed By Train In Area
Police have identified a man who was fatally struck by a train in Rockland County on Tuesday night. The Orangetown Police Department received a call at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, from a passerby who saw a man struck by a train on the CSX rail line just south of Bradley Hill Road. Officers arrived at the scene and tracked down the man, who has since been identified as Blauvelt resident Enda Caulfield, 36. West Haverstraw Bridge Will Be Closed During Rail Line Work
A busy Rockland bridge will be closed for several months as contracting crews get set for a lengthy reconstruction project in the area. An alert was issued on Monday to Rockland County residents warning that beginning on Monday, April 2, the Samsondale Avenue Bridge in West Haverstraw over the CSX rail lines in West Haverstraw will be closed to all traffic for the bridge reconstruction project. Officials said that the project is expected to last through Dec. 2, when it is expected to be reopened to traffic. While the bridge is closed, motorists have been advised to seek alternate routes.
