Rory O. Amaya, of Norwalk, died on Sept. 11 after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer, according to his obituary. He was 55 and leaves behind his four children and his longtime partner. Family and friends were invited to gather in his memory Saturday, Sept. 26.

A masked gunman robbed a man outside a Bergen County business over the summer before fleeing in a car displaying a bogus temporary New Jersey registration tag, authorities said.
The victim had arrived at a business on Lanza Avenue around 6:51 a.m. Monday, June 22, and was getting out of his car when the armed suspect approached, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

A Long Island man accused of running from the scene after causing a head-on crash on Interstate 84 in Dutchess County was later found intoxicated, police said.
The crash happened on westbound I-84 near mile marker 42.4 in Beacon on Sunday, Sept. 27, shortly before 5 p.m., New York State Police said.
