A driver wanted for hitting a police cruiser with a stolen BMW was nabbed by Garfield police after he crashed into a pole, igniting a fire, and took off on foot, authorities said.
Garfield police spotted the orange 2020 BMW M4 shortly before noon Wednesday, March 27, after colleagues from Newark who were tracking the vehicle via GPS pointed them to Prospect Street after one of their vehicles was hit, Capt. Mario Pozo said.

Scott R. Peeler died on Jan. 30 at home in Cherry Hill, according to an obituary published by Healey Funeral Homes.
Born in Philadelphia, Scott grew up in Cherry Hill and graduated from Cherry Hill East High School, his obituary said.
Scott was a football star selected first-team All-State, All-South Jersey, All-Conference and Group IV. He continued his education and football career at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, his obit said.

Wildwood Home Invaders Crash Van In Floodwaters Amid Slow-Speed Pursuit: Police
Two men were arrested after invading someone's home in Wildwood then crashing a van in floodwaters while trying to get away from police, authorities said.
Robert McMichael, 38, of Wildwood, and Scott Hudson, 31, of West Wildwood, were later arrested in connection with the incident that began on the 200 block of East Bennett Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, Wildwood police said.
McMichael and Hudson assaulted the homeowner before stealing items from the house, police said.

A campaign has been launched by the grandchildren of a 74-year-old woman who police say was decapitated by her son in New Jersey.
More than $2,000 had been raised on a GoFundMe launched for the funeral of Alexandria Surgent, by her grandchildren, as of Wednesday, Dec. 13.
