Fire In Lodi Industrial Building Doused Sprinklers helped douse a fire in a Lodi industrial building Sunday night. Firefighters "were met with heavy smoke and an activated sprinkler head," the borough fire department said. Crews stretched a hose line into the building, located the source of the fire and extinguished it, the department said. No injuries were reported. Firefighters from Garfield, Saddle Brook and Wallington assisted their colleagues at the Del Glenn Avenue blaze. Their Rochelle Park and Maywood colleagues covered the borough for them. Maywood Firefighters Prevent Blaze After H2O Spills On Electrical Board MAYWOOD, N.J. — The Maywood Fire Department stopped a potential fire by shutting power in an apartment after water spilled onto an electrical unit Wednesday evening. A broken water main created a steam and electrical condition at the Elm Court apartments on Passaic Street, Fire Chief Chris Tuttle said. Firefighters turned off the electricity in unit 6A to prevent a potential fire situation, caused by water from the first floor leaking into the basement, Tuttle said. Passaic Street has reopened to traffic after being closed from Maywood Avenue to Golf Road.
